Dr. Eddie L Jones, Sr.
Dr. Jones is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. He has been married to Elder Sandra Jones for thirty-five (35)
years. They have three (3) sons, Eddie Jr., Mark, and Samuel. Dr. Eddie and Elder Sandra Jones have been blessed
with five (5) grandchildren: Damarreon, Jeremiah, Iyana, Isaiah, and Malan.
His formal educational experiences include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in Voice from Allen University; a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies and a Master's Degree in Theology from Truth Bible College in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Jones also matriculated at George Washington University in Washington, DC, University of South Carolina, and Midlands Technical College. In June 2014, he earned a Doctorate Degree in Pastoral Ministries from Central Christian University of South Carolina, Inc.
At an early age, Dr. Jones received Christ as his personal savior. Through the years, the calling on his life to the ministry became clearer. After accepting his calling, the late Pastor Cynthia DeBerry became his mentor. In April 2005, Dr. Jones began serving as Pastor of Abundant Life Outreach Ministries, Inc. in Cayce, SC. With God's guidance, he has been a faithful servant to the community and a true spiritual leader. He is a truly dedicated to his church members and the community in helping them to follow God's plan for living abundantly.
Dr. Jones has worked in a number of capacities in state government. He worked at the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) for thirty (30) years. Initially, he served as an inspector/investigator of salons and schools. Later, he was appointed as the Program Coordinator/Administrator of the Barber, Cosmetology, and Massage Bodywork Therapy Boards for which he was the first African-American to hold these three (3) board positions. Dr. Jones was selected by the LLR Agency Director, in 2001, to attend the most prestigious program in state government called "EXCEL" Leadership Institute under Governor James Hodges' administration.
He is affiliated with many civic organizations in the community. The affiliations include, but are not limited to, the Christian Businessman Coalition, Cayce Area Ministerial Coalition, Long Creek Plantation Homeowners Association, Ward One Families Association, Booker T. Washington Foundation, Allen University Alumni Association, Phi Beta Lambda Business Society, National Interstate Council of State Boards of Barber and Cosmetology, and the Notary Public Society. Dr. Jones does motivational speaking, presentations for a number of occasions, and quite a few singing engagements.
Dr. Jones has a number of accomplishments including being inducted into the Cosmetology Hall of Fame in April 2009 and the State Palmetto Barbers' Association as an honorary member in June 2013. He was also the recipient of a Resolution for his contributions to mankind from the House of Representatives.
